How to Buy Discount Golf Equipment on Craigslist

“You Will Look Like A Pro With

These Hot Golf Tips…”

In the previous lesson you learned about Great Deals on Discount Golf Equipment.  In this lesson you will learn about how to find discount golf equipment utilizing Craigslist.

“How to Buy Discount Golf Equipment on Craigslist…”

One great way to start is by looking for discount golf equipment on Craigslist. To be perfectly honest, unless you live near a major metropolitan area, your search for discount golf equipment on Craigslist could prove frustrating. But it’s still worth your time because if you do find a set of used golf clubs on Craigslist, you may have stumbled upon the bargain of the year. Fortunately, there is usually a pretty good selection of discount golf equipment online. Online classified ads are one way of finding discount golf equipment at great prices. You certainly can save a lot of money buying used golf clubs.

“Start With Well Known Brands…”

If you’re considering buying used golf equipment on Craigslist, you should start with the well known brands like Nike, Calloway, and Titleist. Prioritize the clubs you need and the brands you like best. This will help you greatly when you’re searching for equipment on Craigslist.

“Use A Focused Key Word Search…”

If you search on something general like “golf clubs“you’ll get a lot more hits – so many that it’s overwhelming. It’s better if you start with specific key word searches like “Callaway golf clubs” or “sand wedge.” If you don’t know about loft angles, then you’re probably fine getting clubs with standard loft angles. Ideally you should have views of the club heads, club faces, shafts, and grips.

“Look For Real Photos…”

Beware if someone posts photos taken directly out of advertisements.  They could be covering up the true condition of the clubs.   You can have a golf club re-gripped for around $10 if you ask around, but a bent shaft or a dinged up club head is forever.

“Know Your Equipment…”

If you are able, write down the specs for the Craiglist golf clubs you are interested in and see if you can try out a set out at a local golf course that rents equipment, a driving range, or a sporting goods store.  Even if they are a well known brand and a great buy, if they don’t fit:

  • Your height
  • Your arm length
  • Or the speed of  your swing, it will feel like you are learning golf all over again if you buy that set

“Don’t Risk Your Safety…”

If you’ve never bought anything off of Craigslist, here are a few facts about it. When buying discount golf equipment off of a service like Craigslist, keep safety in mind. If possible, meet in a public place (like a city golf course). No great deal on discount golf equipment is worth risking your personal safety.
