“Famous British Golf Courses…”

Scotland is recognized as the birthplace of golf, and its famous UK golf courses include the most legendary of them all, the Old Course at St. Andrews.  But St. Andrews isn’t the only world-renowned golf course that Scotland offers:  the Ailsa Course at Turnberry Golf Club, the Carnoustie Golf Links, Muirfield, the Gleneagles Kings Course and the Kingsbarns Golf Links are just a few of the more than 400 courses you’ll find in Scotland.  Royal Liverpool, Royal Lytham St. Annes, Royal Birkdale, Wentworth and Sunningdale are among England’s famous UK golf courses, while Wales tosses in Royal Porthcawl, Celtic Manor and Royal St. Davids.  So kick back, pick your favorite and think about enjoying golf in its purest form at one of these famous UK golf courses.

“Some Famous Scottish Golf Courses…”

Any tour of famous UK golf courses that’s worth its salt should either start or end at the Old Course at St. Andrews.  It’s a public course so anyone can play it, and the course welcomes golfers from all over the world.  Much more manicured than most famous UK golf courses, Ailsa puts a premium on accurate drives and iron shots.  Muirfield, home of an astonishing 15 Open Championships, is another one of Scotland’s many famous UK golf courses.  Like many of the other famous UK golf courses, Muirfield is a links course and is set on sandy, windswept land that’s been reclaimed from the sea.  Some Famous English Golf Courses
