Golf Short Game: Pitching

“You Will Look Like A Pro With

These Hot Golf Tips…”

In the previous lesson you learned about how to perfect your Golf Short Game.  In this online Golf Tutorial lesson You will learn a little about the Golf Short Game: Pitching.

“Golf Short Game: Pitching…”

Your short game is something that you will definitely need to work on if you want to lower your golf scores, as a fantastic drive can quickly be wasted if you do not have adequate pitching skills. The goal of your pitch is to give yourself the shortest putt possible, so a good pitching game can even make the holes in your putting game less obvious.

“Golf Pitching Tip…”

The first golf pitching tip that you will want to consider is to avoid looking at the ball after you make contact. Make sure that you focus on the ball throughout your shot and come through on the ball with a downward type of swing, without being too choppy.

“Your Pitch Shots…”

Your pitch shots should be made with a wedge of some sort, as these clubs are designed to create a soft landing for the ball on the green. Depending on the length that you have to the hole, you can use the sand wedge, pitching wedge, or lob wedge and each of these clubs will create a nice arch and landing for the ball. These clubs also work for chip shots from the fringe, as they are shorter than other clubs and, therefore, easier to control.

“Improve Your Confidence…”

When you first line up in the tee box, having an improving pitching game will greatly improve your overall confidence because you will know that no matter where your ball ends up, that you will have the ability to save the hole. Those who do not have confidence in their short game end up panicking once they hit a bad tee shot because they know that the rest of the hole will be trouble for them.

“Skill With The Pitching Wedge…”

If you are very skilled with one of your pitching wedges, you might want to place your tee shot in a location that gives you a nice, easy pitch onto the green. In the end, it is always best for your overall golf game to work on your pitching as much as possible.

“Never Too Much Practice…”

If you have not taken the time to work on your short game, now is definitely the time because it will give you an advantage on every course you play. By tightening up this aspect of your game, you can have the confidence to make a good shot, no matter where you end up on the course. Having this confidence in your short game will also prevent you from getting frustrated which can also improve your score.
