Golf Short Game

“You Will Look Like A Pro With

These Hot Golf Tips…”

In this lesson you will learn about how to perfect your Golf Short Game.  The short game consists of putting, chipping, and pitching.  These skills are absolutely necessary to play good golf.

“Golf Short Game…”

Your golf short game is dependent on three different elements, with each of these elements coming into play on nearly every hole. The first element is Chipping.

“Chipping…”

Chipping is an important aspect because it is used to get the ball into a good position on the green. The goal is to get the ball rolling as quickly as possible, especially on a longer chip, as you want the green to do most of the work for you. As for the actual golf chipping shot, you will want to have your feet about a foot apart with most of your weight on your front foot.

“Pitching: The Second Element…”

Golf pitching is also a very important part of your golf short game, as it is often used from the same positions on the course as a chip. The type of shot that you choose to utilize is dependent on the lie of the ball and the conditions. Pitching is better, however, if you have very little green to work with because there is very little roll involved. The purpose of this shot is to have the ball land softly on the green and stay in relatively the same spot where it first makes contact.

When you are making your golf pitching shot, make sure that you come down on the ball slightly with the ball positioned in the center position between your legs. Unlike the chip shot, you cannot use any club because the goal is to get some air under the ball so that it lands as close to the pin as possible. Make sure that you follow through correctly by staying focused on the ball throughout your swing and avoid looking up to admire your shot too soon.

“Putting: The Third Element…”

Golf putting is the final step on most holes, unless you are lucky enough to hole out with your chip or pitch. Putting is extremely complicated because greens are not meant to be played straight. By carefully mastering a steady putting stroke, you can greatly improve the feel that you have around the green, which will improve your short game as a whole.

“Always Practice Your Golf Short Game…”

Your golf short game is entirely dependent on the amount of time that you put into it, so make sure that you practice all of these elements on a regular basis.
